Dear Solid Rock Family,
I am overjoyed to let you know that after seven Sundays of not worshipping together on campus, we will be coming back on Sunday, August 30th in two services - 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Please note the change in the time of the second service – 10:30 a.m.
Since March, with the onset of this pandemic, Solid Rock did not meet on campus for a total of sixteen weeks. Crazy right? No doubt.
However, we are ready to get back to doing what Solid Rock does best – Loving the living God together! Our worship is greater together; our fellowship is sweeter together; our witness is stronger together and our lives are better together!
Upon our return to in person, on campus worship, I want to strongly encourage our church family to wear masks. They help to mitigate against the spread of this menacing virus. Here is why I am asking us to wear masks while on campus:
1. People matter to us. Masks are less about us and more about the health of others. This virus causes serious health consequences and we have a moral obligation to care about the health of our church family.
2. Solid Rock’s continuity of ministry is critical. We must do what we can to minimize outbreaks of this virus. Our failure to do this may result in the return to exclusively streaming our services.
3. Once back on campus, people from our community who are looking for a church family, will be attending Solid Rock for the first time. When they arrive looking for answers and hope for their lives, we want them to feel safe and comfortable among us. Masks can help to create an atmosphere of compassion and love. If we can lower people’s fear and anxiety about being in public places, let’s do it.
During this pandemic, you have been an amazing congregation. Your spirit of love and grace, patience and compassion have been stellar and an example of what the body of Christ should be. I am very proud of you and Danna and I thank the Lord for allowing us to be the shepherds of this beautiful church family.
See you in person on Sunday, August 30th in either the 9:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. worship experience.
Spread the good news – We’re coming back!
