Our History, Mission & Values

Our History: In 1993, the Lord moved upon the hearts of a group of people to plant a new church that would exalt the Lord Jesus Christ. Solid Rock Church was begun with "a deep longing to be closer to God" and to experience "a fresh, new filling of the Holy Spirit." Our first official meeting of Solid Rock was held October 31, 1993 at 3985 Hamilton Road, Columbus, Georgia affectionately known as "The Red Building." Solid Rock affiliated with the Assemblies of God in 1995 with a commitment to advance the Kingdom of God through world missions. From the onset, Solid Rock grew quickly. Sixteen acres of property on the corner of Warm Springs and Pierce Chapel Roads were purchased in 1995. Shortly thereafter, a beautiful sanctuary was built in 1996 and our first worship service took place on January 26, 1997. On July 27, 2003, Pastor Jay and Danna Bailey became our pastors and since then Solid Rock has grown from approximately 220 people to approximately 650 people. Over the last five years (2003 until 2008), Solid Rock has averaged a fifteen (15) percent increase in attendance per year and during the last years (2007-2008), Solid Rock has experienced phenomenal growth in every ministry.
