1. How long are your services?
Hours and hours. In fact, most of our people pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it. JUST KIDDING:) Our Sunday worship services, along with LIFE Groups, are approximately an hour and fifteen minutes in length. If you attend both, worship service and a LIFE Group on Sunday morning, your approximate stay will be two-hours and fifteen minutes as LIFE Groups are designed to last no longer than an hour.
Wednesday night services begin at 6:30PM and typically last until 8:15PM.
2. What is a typical worship service like at Solid Rock?
A typical service begins with a time of worship which is led by our worship band. Our band features excellent musicians and vocalists who cover a wide range of musical styles all designed to lead us in expressing our love for God. Lyrics to all of the songs are projected on large screens in the auditorium for everyone to join in. We create a safe atmosphere in which everyone can feel free to sing, clap our hands, close our eyes, lift our hands, or just allow our imagination to connect to God in a very real and personal way.
Following our time of worship, we usually share a few brief updates on upcoming events @ Solid Rock.
We receive an offering which allows us to operate all of the ministries of Solid Rock and contribute to missions works all around the world.
Our service culminates with a time of learning through a sermon from our Pastor. This is an opportunity for us to study the Bible together and make application of its truths to the way we live. Everyone receives a printed outline with fill-in-the-blanks so that we can follow along and keep the material as a way for self-study throughout the week. We use sharp visuals and media to reinforce the main themes of the sermon.
We conclude our time together with prayer. We allow an opportunity for anyone to begin a brand new relationship with God. We also make ourselves available to pray one-on-one with anyone who needs some support and encouragement.
3. Is there anything I should know before attending one of your gatherings?
Plan to arrive about 20 minutes early if you have kids. That way you'll have plenty of time to check-in your kids at our nursery/children welcome center, grab a bulletin, and make your way to a comfortable seat before our Celebration begins.
Also, our Pastor has the BEST ACCENT. Seriously, he's Jamaican-born, Canadian-educated, and a graduate of UGA. That's worth a visit in and of itself.
4. How should we dress?
No shoes, no shirt, no service! Again, JUST KIDDING…sort of?:) In all seriousness though, please come comfortably dressed; whether that means classy or casual. Our Pastors do not wear suits and ties. They like being comfy, too.
5. Do you have anything for my kids?
Yes, we do. For information regarding our Children's Ministry,

6. I don't have much experience with "church". Will I feel out of place?
It is never our intention that you would feel out of place in any way whatsoever. We have greeters to help you find your way easily about our campus. We are careful to be warm and friendly without being nosy or intrusive. Many of us also come from a background that did not include much experience in a church. We use those experiences to make everyone feel safe and connected to all that we do.
7. Are you affiliated with a denomination?
Yes, we are. We are fully affiliated with the Assemblies of God. For more about what we believe in terms of our doctrine, please visit
www.ag.org.
8. Where do I go when I arrive on campus?
Whether on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights, families will generally enter through the front doors of the main building (under the awning). Once entered, the sanctuary is straight ahead. The first time family's welcome center is to the left (there are two kiosks provided for first time guests) and the children's welcome center is located upstairs. Elevator is to the left of the sanctuary doors.
However, teenagers grades 6-12 will report to the Student Ministries Building on Wednesday nights which sits directly behind the main building. This is also where Collision College Ministry is held on Thursday nights.
